Nic Coppola fires in a "Hole In One" at Blakes Golf Club

Nic hit the first and only "Hole in One"  on a Flamstead End Golf Day at Blakes on the 6th October 2007. Nics review of the once in a life time shot  is below

"I had just come off the back of a birdie 4 on the 4^th to take me back to only 2 over par and was now feeling pretty good about the rest of the round.  It was my honour on the next tee.  I parked the buggy next to the yellow markers and saw that it was 179 yards. 

When I played this a month ago, I took a 6 iron and came up one club short.  However, the wind was slightly in our faces so I took a 4 iron out.  I think I hit this 4 iron as well as I have ever hit it before and knew that it was going to be pretty close. I remember Duncan saying that's a hole in one , as soon as I hit it, I saw it bounce on the green and the lost sight of it so bent down and picked up my tee.Sam then said ,That ball just disappeared.  It's either a hole in one of has rolled off the back of the green.I said it can't have gone in, but was obviously hoping it had. The others then took their shos and as Duncan walked up to the tee he said, I'll go halves with you in the bar afterwards. We then drove the buggy towards the green and Sam said, if you can't see it on the green then its definitely in the hole.you in the bar afterwards! We then drove up towards the green and Sam said , If you can't see it on the green then it is definitely in the hole, I still didn't believe him but thought I'd walk up to the hole and check and, there it was, the old Titleist Pro V1 smiling back at me.I then jumped up and down and couldn't believe it.Anyway, my next tee shot was the worst of the day where I was still shaking so much!
